This girl keeps us on our toes! Jo entered toddlerhood in full force and constantly blows us away. By 15 months, she was saying more than thirty words and singing songs. She's been running since she learned to walk. The happiest, friendliest baby with the most fiery spirit. It is hard to believe she is already a year and a half.

After the heat we suffered through this summer, I was more than ready for the cool, crisp breeze of fall. Late October is my favorite. The humidity and heat have officially left for good, but more than that, the trees are in full blown transformation mode. I love the look of the oranges, reds, browns, yellows, and greens blended together.
On this cool Sunday, I captured some fun around my parent's house. The puppies, the trees, and my sister got some photo action. Simple days like these are the best!
No matter how gorgeous, stylish, or well put together a couple is, photos don't produce natural emotion unless that emotion exists to begin with. Chemistry is crucial and proves to be the breath that gives a captured moment life.
When working with an engaged couple, I initially pose them and give a few ideas. However, my biggest advice is always the same: be relaxed and natural with one another, while remembering the camera is snapping. Instead of constant smiles or forced gazing, I like couples to just be themselves with one another. Pictures turn out best when there is natural flirting and chatting (with the occasional kiss or smile mixed in) between the two. Megan and Dave's chemistry is obvious in every picture of the two of them, and it remains one of the key reasons why their pictures were so much fun to take and turned out how they did. These two had "natural posing" down to a science! While I was running around looking for angles, these two were in their own world, laughing and joking with one another. It is that sort of passion and the idea of capturing it visually that makes me love photography. I'm currently in a state of picture-editing obsession.
Tonight I took photos for one of my friends, Megan, and her fiancé' Dave. Although it was a little chilly outside, it was one of the most fun photo shoots I've ever had! Megan also brought along her mom Diane, who proved to be the perfect assistant. I wish I could have her with me during every shoot. Megan and Dave are set to get married next October, so the current leaves added a perfect background to this couple. We couldn't have gotten a better day. Megan and Dave were naturals, and we were all so consumed with the photos that we barely registered how cold it got outside. It wasn't until I came inside that I realized I could barely feel my hands! During the entire shoot I took about 540 pictures. I am in love with the few that I already have finished, but there are many more left to sort through. This is my first "to be continued..." blog post. Enjoy the pictures now. More to follow! |
